Tucked away in the southernmost point of Sicily lies Pachino. This little-known area is blessed with bountiful beaches and archaeological sites a plenty. Pachino is also known for its spectacular agricultural backdrop, characterized by the growth of the tomatoes of Pachino and the grapes used in the making of Nero d’Avola wine.
This tour commences on a small farm specializing in all things tomatoes. A tasting session will be followed by a meander through the region’s vineyards and immersion in a local winery, where you will be treated to a selection of the most important wines of the area. Please note that the best period to see the production is between June and September.
This ancient city has a long history, originating in 8th c. BC as a Phoenician city, then passing into the hands of the Carthaginians before finally becoming a major Roman city.
